The Instrumental Introduction

It’s simply known as “The Instrumental Introduction.”

This SMKA produced instrumental has served as my wake up alarm for the past couple of weeks and I decided I should share it with y’all.

“The Instrumental Introduction” served as the lead-in to SMKA’s first project, The 808 Experiment: Vol. 1, released in late 2008. Since then 808 Blake and 7King have gone on to garner production credits on projects by a few artists I’ve posted on the blog. Namely, B.o.B, Aleon Craft, and Freddie Gibbs.

It takes almost a minute and a half for the beat to drop, but when it does, it’s glorious. I really can’t describe it any other way. The loop of the Andre 3000’s lyric about the rotation of the ceiling fan from “Elevators” and the echoing of the  “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” provide you with the introduction to SMKA.

Take a listen…
