Fresh Outa Nowhere

There are a lot of young artists rapping right now. Many don’t have an identity and just copy whatever rappers they see in the mainstream. Ra Bey Denim is NOT one of those types. He sent me his mixtape a few days back and I was impressed. Hailing from the Eastside of Atlanta he cites artists such as Common, Jay-Z, and Nas as influences. I was impressed by his ear for beats, the joints he decided to rap over were on point. He held his own over instrumentals of OutKast’s “Ms. Jackson” and Pharrell’s “Number One”. The lyricism was there as well, while other rappers Ra Bey’s age (18) would make a dance song he decided to craft songs of substance and depth. Check out his mixtape!
