Brandi

I know most people would consider Dwele’s music as R&B or neo-soul, but you can’t deny his hip-hop influences. The Detroit singer is one of my favorites doing it right now. He’s multi-talented (production, singing, and some rapping) and he never disappoints on his albums. On “Brandi” he takes Slum Village’s “Go Ladies” and slows down the instrumental to form a dope track. Not really a sample in the traditional sense, but I’ll call this one an “adaptation.”
